What Liberty's practicum team does, and what's left to you
Liberty calls placement a “collaborative partnership.” Its practicum team, led by an Assistant Director of Practicum Experiences with Practicum and Clinical Coordinators, aims to match NP students with a preceptor and site. Students are asked to bring their own leads as well, paperwork runs through zero-credit Gate courses a semester ahead, and any site or preceptor fees fall on the student.
That's the gap we fill, and our service is built for it. We search for preceptors and sites that fit your track and your state, check them against Liberty's preceptor rules, and get the site contract and Gate-course paperwork right, working alongside the practicum team.
Liberty approves every site and preceptor. We do the searching and the preparation, so the file you submit already meets Liberty's published rules.

Does Liberty place its nursing students with preceptors?
Liberty's practicum team aims to match NP students with a preceptor and site, as a collaborative partnership, and asks students to bring leads too. MSN students choose their own facility. See what the practicum team does.
What exactly do you do?
We look for a preceptor and site that fit your Liberty track and state, check them against Liberty's published rules, and prepare the site contract and Gate-course paperwork with you. If a preceptor withdraws, a new search starts right away. How it works has the steps.
How do you help a preceptor through Liberty's review?
Liberty gives the final approval: the practicum team and the Gate course review every site and preceptor. We match each candidate against Liberty's published rules and prepare the paperwork, so what the team reviews is complete and fits your track.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your track, your hours, your state and your timing. You get a written quote before you commit. Liberty's own rule that students pay any site or preceptor fees is separate; see preceptor fees and cost.
I live in California, New York or Washington. Can you help?
Yes. Liberty won't hold NP practicum in those states or in DC, and some MSN tracks are also closed in Washington, so we search in an approved state where your RN license is valid. The state restrictions page lists the rules by program.
